Young Gunners 2 PDF Print E-mail

young ones.jpg Young Gunners is my EPL fantasy log. Each week it will contain and interview with Stuart Herron, the longtime Leeds United defender who's just taken his Islington side into the Premiership with solid backing from his front office team, Nazir Hamed and American billionaire Tex Huffington.

Sir Stanton Hobbes Miller, BBC Sport: A tough match for Islington today...

Stewart Herron, Manager Islington Young Gunners: Yeah, that's right. It was a sloppy pitch and we always knew it was going to be a fast, hard game because we get that from them when we go up North. Credit to them for making it difficult.

SHM: You can't have been well-pleased with the late concession.

SH: It was a soft one is what it was and the lads know I'm not the sort of manager who is satisfied with that. There was a lot of work went in that first hour and the early goal was a top quality bit of striking from V. Persie, so it's really a shame in my mind that the players, particularly Konchesky and McShane, would give that all back easily.

SHM: The club stands five points from three fixtures. Many directors would be quite pleased with that after a promotion.

SH: I don't think like that, Mr. Miller. You know I don't. Naz doesn't think like that. We don't want anyone at this club thinking like that. We are a championship team and we've got a champion's mentality. We want to win all our games. We know we can do better and we know that won't happen if we don't play the full 90 minutes.

EPL Fantasy Report:

Islington Young Gunners Week 3: Hahnemann (6 pts.), Konchesky (1 pt.), McShane (1pt.), Melchiot (6 pts.), Hleb (2 pts.), Fabragas (2 pts.), Arteta (2 pts.), Osman (2 pts.), V. Persie (5 pts.), Drogba (4 pts.), Santa Cruz (2 pts.)

GameWeek 3: 33 pts.

Season: 113 pts.

EPL Fantasy Game Week 4

Points were hard to come by in Week 3, but it was another good week for the Manchester City boys. Portsmouthm, Middlesborough, and Tottenham scored the goals so it was a good week to have picked up on the Mido signing, called on Jermaine Jenas, or put some trust in Utaka or Kanu at Pompey. Taylor might be bargain of the league for midfield thus far.

The Big 4 stagnated, referee Rob Stiles got red-carded, and fantasy footballers are fire-selling their Man U boys.

Pundit says remain calm. Use your transfer to shore up the defense with Ingimarsson from Reading and then double down the bet on your best attacking player to come through with goals this week. Give Drogba, V. Persie, Torres, Anelka, Berbatov the armbands and bank on the fact you bought them in the first place because good forwards eventually score goals.
